ADAC success at Merrick

On Saturday 16th September the ADAC quartet of Adam Anderson, Mark Whitelaw, Graham McLellan and Roger Irving tackled the infamous Merrick Hill Race, well known on the circuit as a tough challenge. Setting off steady on the 8 mile course with over 2,500ft of lung busting climbing, on what was a cold day, it was Graham who crested the summit first showing his excellent climbing ability. But it was the talented and very experienced descender Adam who danced his way down the very tricky descent to win the race overall in 1:28:15. Graham took 4th place overall and 1st Vet 40 in 1:31:57. Mark was 9th in 1:39:08 with those three winning the team prize. Roger tweaked his calf on the way back finishing well in 1:51:13 in 15th place. A great day for the ADAC men on the tough Galloway Hills.
