Nicole Proudfoot competed in the England Athletics National Combined Events Championships at the Manchester Regional Athletics Arena over the weekend. The event was a hexathlon over 2 days with 3 events each day and this was Nicole's first try at javelin in a competition , this being the additional event from her usual pentathlon.
Nicole competed well and finished a fantastic 5th place despite the javelin not going as hoped but it is still work very much in progress! Despite moving from 2nd to 7th after the javelin after the first day Nicole battled on with a great 2nd day with a decent shot putt, a great high jump with a new outdoor PB of 1.59m (indoor PB 1.60m) and finished the day with a new 800m PB of 2.27 and managed to still finish in a very credible 5th place. Nicole was happy with her performance and knows there's still plenty time to improve her javelin for when she moves up to the full Heptathlon next year at U17 level and the 200m is also added which she is looking forward to.
