Due to construction work taking place at Newbie we are unable to make use of the car park so the annual pre-Christmas fancy dress run will now take place around a course in Annan.
Meet at Annan Academy car park, 10.15 am for a 10.30 am start.
The course will be:
Over railway bridge and turn left along Summergate road - approx 400 yards
Turn right into Lovers Lane then take branch off to left and climb hill
At top of hill turn right and descend then left at the bottom onto Hillend Road
past the farm then right along Waterfoot Road, at the end of the road turn right then next left onto Wood Avenue
Run past Elmvale Primary School, left onto Elm Road up to railway bridge
Repeat once more for a course distance of 3.8 miles (approx).
Depending on the weather I may get signs out!!
The next event on the schedule for ADAC Seniors (weather permitting!) and is planned for Sunday 20th December. This event has long been recognised as a great hangover cure!
As ever runners are encouraged to push the boat out and enter into the festive spirit with Christmas (or any other) fancy dress costumes to tackle the course.
The run will be a mass group start at 10.30am and the committee (Andy & Joe) will be assigning handicap times to runners based on their costumes - the more festive and extravagant the more time knocked off your run time e.g. a Santa suit and a 20kg rucksack full of toys MIGHT get a 5 minute bonus whilst a garland of tinsel could get 30 seconds! The full result will be announced at the end - bring your own watches please.
All club members, friends of ADAC, family and colleagues are welcome.
Afterwards there will be tea, coffee and perhaps a mince pie or two! All runners are asked to bring along a raffle prize (suggestions could be a box of biscuits, bottle of wine or similar) - there is likley to be under-18s so suitable (non-alcoholic) contributions would be welcomed!
