A very busy weekend for ADAC runners.

Yes it was a very busy weekend for ADAC athletes.

On Saturday it was the last event of our Senior Summer Championship at the beautiful Black Esk reservoir and the “Tough Man 10”  a very testing (clue in the title) 10 mile race in the forest.

There were some fine performances and in particular it was great to see Andy Render and Nigel Priestley motoring round the course coming back after injury setbacks this year. Other notable performances were from the Kennedy duo of Nicola and Andrew gaining pb’s.

The championships have been a great success this year and the winners are:

Main Championship – Rory Longmore

Age Grade – Rory Longmore

Ladies – Janet Priestley

Well done to those and also to those who have made this summer a great success.

Our athletes also travelled the length and breadth of the UK competing in 3 countries to find races:

Gordon Vivers and Kevin Plummer both gained PB’s in the Chester Marathon with 3-26 and 2-59 respectively. Steve Coleman also travelled to Chester and finished 4th in the “metric “Marathon (26km) in 1-50 ! Well done guys.

Back "up north" John Parry , Vicky Emery and Ruth Griffith travelled across the border for the Cumbrian Run. John finished in 1-28 on a tough hilly course and Vicky finished in 1-42.  Brilliant running on a really hilly course.  Ruth’s time not available as yet.

And further “up north” Liz Dawson and George Fraser ran in the Glasgow half marathon . As yet we only have Liz’s time of 1-43 – well done !

And finally.................young Rory Murray finished 21st in the Scottish Junior run at Glasgow in 10-59 !

Brilliant running Rory – well done !

That’s all folks !

Have a wee rest now – we deserve it !

Go ADAC !
