WINTER TOWN RESULTS
Event No.1 Tour de Moffat 5.7miles. A hilly mainly off road course.
Weather : Dry ,Mild after heavy rain.
After 24 hours of heavy rain the previous day the first race of the Winter league's opening race "Tour de Moffat" gave runners a very tricky and WET run over the hills around Moffat. 14 runners took on the challenge and all enjoyed the climbing, descending and..........wading through the streams which had become rivers.
First home for the club was Joe Boardman who was pushed all the way by young Jack Johnstone and Gordon Vivers. First lady home was Marie Marshall despite going the wrong way and adding another half mile to the course. She was closely followed home by Louise Hopper and Liz Dawson.
Well done all ! Results are below.

Event No.2
Sat 24th November
Brownmoor forest 5,2miles
The weather was very kind considering the time of year and good unerfoot conditions made for some good times despite the extra hazard of some sheep being moved form one field to another (I'll have to add that as a hazard next time).
Those who have done this course before knew about the first "hill" which goes on for what seems like forever and one which deserves respect. It was very important to take this steady especially on the first lap. Overall the climb was over 700ft which almost takes this race into the realms of a hill race.
First lady home was Marie Marshall and first gent home was Joe Boardman.
Results are below. Well done everyone !

Event No.8 "Touch the heart stone" Sunday 3rd Feb
A fabulous turn out of runners from not only ADAC but Dalbeattie and Dumfries clubs tackled the testing run up to the heart stone from the old Dalbeattie primary school. Early morning rain on a snowy trail made conditions quite slippery but local runner Andrew Webster made light work of the route finishing in 32.12. Donna Burnett was the first lady home in 36.15. First home for the club was Jack Johnstone and first lady was Marie Marshall. All runners enjoyed a nice warm cuppa afterwards and despite the rain said they really enjoyed the run. Many thanks to all who helped make this another successful ADAC race.

EVENT No.11 BURNSWARK HILL RACE
The final race of the season was a reminder that we are still in Winter. Blizzard like conditions greeted runners who turned up for the event with the hill itself covered in about 2 inches of snow. Times were not reallyimportant today but guest (and hopefully an ADAC member soon) James Taylor posted an excellent time of 41:24 whilst Marie Marshall did likewise with her time of 46:27 although she did admit to one or two ski jumps on the way down the hill. Well done to all who ventured out today.
