Lockerbie 10km 12th June
Conditions were near perfect on Tuesday for the 15th lockerbie 10km. The undulating course was tackled by 17 runners and it was good to see the return of some athletes back from illness and absences. It was also good to see some guests join us for the event.
The good summer running weather continued at Moffat for the 33rd Gala race.
The stern test of 3 races (almost flat 3m, mountain 1m and downhill 4m) in one proved to be a breeze for ADAC runners. Congratulations to everyone who took part. Results are below.

Castle Douglas to Gelston (and back) race.
Conditions : Dry , sunny ,20c, light winds.
The summer weather continued to make running a pleasure at the annual Castle Douglas race. This race goes back many years and follows roughly the same course heading out of the town towards the village of Gelston and back via the tricky , undulating unclassified road past the Garden centre arriving back from the southern part of the loch.
It was great to see our newest member Esme Green in action along with our regulars who enjoyed the trip. Results are as follows.

Race No. 7
Smiling prize winners Gordon , Liz and Graham took 1st Vets in their age categories.
The Dalbeattie 10km took place on Tuesday 7th August with 8 athletes from ADAC in attendance on a good night for running. This very testing but very scenic course is not one for fast times but certainly one to "enjoy". The hill at mile 3 proved to be a tricky test with many runners finding the going tough at this point but for every uphill there is a downhill and all of our athletes returned home safe and sound.
First home for ADAC was Graham McLellan on home ground and he was very pleased to come home in a time of 38:50 and our first lady home was the young Liz Dawson in 52:53. Results are beow. Well done everyone.
RACE No. 8 ANNAN TEN MILER
SATURDAY 11th AUGUST
Temp 19c Light winds, sunny.
The long range weather forecast for Saturday was for torrential rain but thankfully this held off for the runners who competed in the Annan 10 mile race. The conditions were quite humid and the water stop at the half way stage was a welcome sight (thanks Linda). First home was Joe Boardman in 1:12:47 who was pushed all the way by Gordon Vivers who is having a great season. The first lady home was Marie Marshall who had not done the event before and was a little worried that she might not go the right way. This was not the case and she crossed the line in 1:22:41. Many thanks to Heather Allam for timekeeping and for the catering team who provided excellent treats for everyone.
Well done to all competitors. Results are below.
RACE No. 9
BLACKWOOD TRAIL 10KM
Another successful evening for the ADAC athletes who headed over to the Blackwood Trail 10km race. This is no ordinary 10km race and takes in quite a few hilly sections but with lovely scenery and even better hospitality with post race refreshments attracting many athletes from far and wide. Conditions were warm and pleasant and there were some fine performances. Results are below:
Carlisle Sport in Action 10km
5 of our athletes travelled south of the border for the Sport in Action 10km and after an early tussle with Gordon Vivers, Norman Johnstone secured his first win for ADAC. Congratulations to all who competed. Results are below:
Race 11. The Doctors Run - Langholm (8.2 miles)
Early morning rain clearing. Mild , good conditions.
A great turn out of runners travelled over the hill to the Muckle Toon and not only for the vast array of food and drinks after the event. This popular but testing course goes back many years and ADAC took away a fair haul of trophies on the day. Results are below:
RACE 12 DUMFRIES HALF MARATHON
Autumn arrived in the last week of September and a cool , fresh wind made the last 4 miles of the race torture for our athletes. First home for the club was Graham McLellan in an excellent time of 84 mins.. First lady home was Liz Dawson coming back into good form finishing just under the 2 hour mark.
Here are the results:

RACE 14 GRETNA HANDICAPPED RUN
After a chilly start to the morning the last of our ADAC handicapped races was greeted with glorious sunshine and perfect conditions. The race was won by young Jack Johnstone in a splendid time of 39:03. It's great to see new members taking part in these events and progressing. First lady home was Marie Marshall despite being full of the cold. Well done everyone. Results are below.
RACE 15 CUMBRIAN RUN
Only 3 athletes managed to travel to our last half marathon of the year but Gordon Vivers managed to secure 1st place V60 and a great finish to this year's championship.
