ADAC Summer Road Championship 2018

There will be three championships to contest this year:

  • The main championship
  • The Ladies’ championship
  • The age graded championship

You can score in a maximum of 8 races.

One must be from Group A and two from Group B and five others from anywhere else.

 

Group A

  • Dumfries Half Marathon
  • Great Cumbrian run / Great Scottish run
  • Any half marathon completed between Saturday 14th April and Sunday 14th October
  • Any marathon completed between Saturday 14th April and Sunday 14th October
  • Any ultra event completed between Saturday 14th April and Sunday 14th October

 

Group B

  • Holywood Stroll / Gelston 5m
  • Hightae 6m race
  • Carlisle Parkrun
  • DumfriesParkrun
  • Langholm Doctor’s Run

Points will be as follows:

20 points for first

18 points for second

16 points for third

15 for fourth, then 14, 13 etc down to 1 point. In addition everyone will receive

5 points for completing the event.

 

Bonus points:

An additional 5 points will be awarded for the completion of a further two races.

An additional 5 points will be awarded for completing all 5 ADAC club races

An additional 20 points will be awarded to anyone who completes the Grand Slam - all 16 events in the championship. The races in italics in group A will not count towards the Grand Slam.

Club vests or t-shirts must be worn in formal races (as indicated below) in order to qualify for points. Only ADAC members will receive points for races and you must have renewed your membership by the date stated by the membership secretary to receive points. All ADAC club races will have a handicapped start with actual course times deciding the rankings. Please bring your own watch to all ADAC events as timekeepers may not always be present.

Tuesday 29th May  7:00pm – Brydekirk 6.75 miles (ADAC H/cap) (Permit being applied for)

Tuesday 12th June 7:00pm Lockerbie 6 mile (ADAC H/cap) (Permit being applied for)

Tuesday 11th July 7:15pm – Moffat Gala Run 15km (Club vest / t-shirt) date tbc

Tuesday 24th July 7:00pm – Gelston 5 miles (Castle Douglas) (Club vest / t-shirt) ** date tbc

Tuesday 7th August – Dalbeattie 10k date tbc (Club vest / t-shirt)****

Saturday 11th August 10:30 – Annan 10 mile (ADAC H/cap). Meet in the Swimming pool car park for a handicapped start. (Closed race – ADAC members only)

Sunday 19th August – Blackwood trail race 10k (Club vest / t-shirt)***

Sunday 26th August 11:00 – Carlisle Sport in Action 10k (Club vest / t-shirt)****

Sunday 2nd September 11:30am – Langholm Doctor’s Run 8m (Club vest / t-shirt)

Sunday 23rd September 11:00am – Dumfries Half Marathon (Club vest / t-shirt)

Sunday 30th SeptemberGreat Scottish run (Club vest / t-shirt)*

Saturday 6th October 10:30 – Gretna Green 10km (ADAC H/cap)

To provide some flexibility I have included a number of either / or events. Points will only be awarded for one race. If you choose to compete in each race then you will be awarded your best points:

****Dalbeattie 10k OR Carlisle 10K

Carlisle and Dumfries Parkruns: Competitors can take part in any Carlisle and Dumfries Parkrun from Saturday 14th April – 13th October 2018. It is the competitors’ responsibility to ensure that I receive your best Parkrun time and the date that it was achieved for each event by Monday 15th October 2018.

Group A events: Points will be awarded as normal for the Dumfries, Great Cumbrian and Great Scottish half marathons, any other half marathon and marathon. For the ultra races age graded points will be calculated as normal but championship points will be calculated based on the average speed per mile. Like points awarded for Parkrun, points for any other half marathon, marathon and ultra will be awarded at the end of the championship. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that I receive the event you competed in, your time and the date that it was achieved by Monday 15th October 2018.
