Hightae Here We Come

The Summer Road Running Championship moves onto Hightae this Thursday (30th April) with the challenging but enjoyable 6m course with post-event hosting courtesy of the Robsons.

Meet in the middle of the village at the hall for a 7pm start.  Runners are reminded that they should bring their own watches - checking that they are properly charged - and with an idea of their estimated time for the run.

Readers may be interested to know some of the best times recorded over this course which has been run (in a variety of guises) over several years.  Club historians tell me that Jamie Laird of Dumfries RC did it in 31.42 in 1999 whilst Mark Whitelaw is recorded at 33.35 from 2005 (on the old ADAC website).  Last year's first place was Kevin Plummer with 39.39, will he be able to replicate this after running London Marathon at the weekend?

A Route map is given of the Summer Champs page for anyone not familiar with it.
